one of our cats, D'Ashe, learned as a kitten that if he jumped and grabbed the latch he could sometimes open a door. Then he discovered that instead of jumping straight up, it was better if he jumped from across the hall and pulled the latch down before his body hit the door, so that letting go of the latch didn't sometimes relatch the door because it was already now ajar. We had to change from lever latches to round knobs on our bedroom to get a good night's uninterrupted sleep.

Perlwolf, you don't let Kitty sleep with you? Cats always cuddle together when they sleep. You aren't letting him be a natural cat.

My Dixie only slept with me on cold nights.

He sleeps with us sometimes, but when he gets bored he is very insistent (claws and teeth drawing blood) about getting released. So when my wife has work the next day, he'd get banned. Over the years he has mellowed a lot so he now is allowed in most of the time. He is very far from being a natural cat - he was abandoned by his feral mother at 6 days old, and so he was brought up with bottle feeding and 3 humans and a dog as his family. So, he will occasionally play fetch with us, and walks straight up to greet strangers on the driveway. He also once got hit by a car and there might have been some brain damage. So, he does sometimes injure people with his idea of playing.
