Found to be solvable with moderate lookahead by blurglecruncheon.
#14: Andrew Schultz (blurglecruncheon) on Jul 21, 2022 [HINT]
Congrats! And good to see another puzzle from you. Hope the job turns out as well as the puzzle did.

Technical stuff: moderate lookahead, because line logic fills in the reds, but you can only fill in two black dots in row 19. From there you need edge logic, and C1-3 in R20 are dots. Then, back to line logic.

spoiler: I currently work as a Library Associate for Jefferson Parish Library system. I've had nearly 5 years' experience, and I think I was likely one of the most qualified applicants. I had just applied about 3 weeks ago, so that was FAST for a government job.

noone owns your life but you. kudos...hopeit's what you hoped for
#24: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Sep 11, 2022
Update: the job would only have been part-time, with no benefits, so I also applied at UAB, where I'm training to be a Patient Encounter Specialist (read: receptionist) for their Infectious Disease clinic. It's full time, with excellent benefits, though not as enjoyable as library work. Also, horribly, WebPBN is blocked while I'm at work!
#25: Valerie Mates (valerie) on Sep 11, 2022
Just please don't catch any Infectious Diseases while you're there!

Sounds like you need a WebPBNVPN!
#28: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Sep 14, 2022
And just like that, I was released from my probation, yesterday. Apparently, I have too many stressors in my life right now, good and bad, to handle the job without crying. I'm going to call HR today, to see if they have any other, less-stressful positions open, but there's also a full-time painter position open at a local theatre, so I'm hoping for that, too. Failing these, I'm sure I can get front-desk work at a nearby hotel, since I have about 7 years' experience with that. *sigh*
#29: Yonah Kondor (yokon965) on Sep 14, 2022
Sorry to hear that! I bet you'd be great in an editorial or journalism role, too.
#30: Jota (jota) on Sep 14, 2022
Keep your hopes high Kristen!
#31: Kurt Kowalczyk (bahabro) on Sep 14, 2022
I do seem to remember seeing a pic of you at a hotel front-desk....

what's the story? we need work? hell, make hubby up his ante... jk, ofc.

only you can stress you, hun. life can throw all the sh*t it wants, but it's you that determines if it gets to you or not....

(btw, what exactly constitutes a "good" stressor? since you have both "good and bad" ones)...

lastly...("thank God", she thinks. "this jackass will finally shut up"). my 2nd fav song is "The only Living Boy in New York", by Simon and Garfunkel. calm, phenomenal lyrics. I do love the oldies! You're feel right as rain before you're done with that cookie
#32: Valerie Mates (valerie) on Sep 14, 2022
Hugs, Kristen!
#33: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Sep 15, 2022
A good stressor: I have moved to a new apartment with a man I love. It's all wonderful, but being in a new environment with a new person is still stressful.

I just met with the technical director a local theatre. I *think* I'm a shoo-in, but the job won't be officially posted for another 3 weeks.

Yes! Mostly set pieces, plus the occasional backdrop
#38: Jota (jota) on Sep 16, 2022
That would be right up you ally!
#39: Kurt Kowalczyk (bahabro) on Sep 16, 2022
or alley...whichevever

hell, I'd take that stressor. flip it inside out, and see it as exploratory fun. Congrats on the new apt! (and life, I'd think...) you know how ppl always say, "I'm too old to blah blah blah"? I know damn well that you can always do something different and it's never too late. but even knowing it, it's still scary. you have more guts than me. Take pride in your courage...and have a wonderful time! :)
#40: Jota (jota) on Sep 17, 2022
Thanks Kurt!!!
