I'm stuck. About 75-80% done and still banging my head against it trying for a breakthrough. For awhile I was certain it was going to be Big Bird, but now I'm reasonably sure it's Daria from Beavis and Butthead.

Finished it, but I don't feel satisfied. There's a point where deep lookahead just feels like trial and error to me, which isn't really different from guessing in my book. I wonder if anyone will be able to solve this through more conventional means.

You shouldn't have to go that deep into lookahead to finish it- I went through several iterations to make sure it was solvable without being painful :)

I started using symmetry about halfway through, which is totally cheating. ^_^

I had difficulty with the puzzle late into it. I wasted a lot of time trying to place row 27. Instead, the key was the 2 block in column 5. Placing it too high creates a stepladder lower down going up and to the left that just runs out of room. Once the 2 block was properly placed, the rest of the puzzle fell into place.

I've filled a lot with a lot of IEL and 2way, including some look ahead and further 2way on the 2way, and I feel stuck.
I've got C5 filled through R26, and I don't feel like I can IEL the 2 in C5.
I've done a bunch of 2 way on the 1s in R34.
Not being able to rule out C5R49 yet is holding me back.

Soleved using logic only. No guessing required.

I think using some deeper lookahead is no different from "conventional" logic, the latter being lookahead with fewer steps.
