#1: Al LaPointe (kancamagus) on Mar 19, 2022 [HINT] [SPOILER]

I started this one a couple years back as just the bear but couldn't make it solvable, so I kept adding stuff until it was. Color logic and line logic mostly - I used edge logic a bit but don't know if it's necessary, and smile logic for the eyes.

Found to be solvable with moderate lookahead by gator.

The only advanced technique is the smile logic at the end. This was a lot of fun to solve.

Fun

Al and Jota, back in the early 1990s we had a late start driving on impulse to Cape Cod for a week's vacation, so we stopped over at an inn on a hill in North Conway. After a trail walk in the woods behind the inn, we decided we didn't need to drive any further to be happy and stayed on where we were. Local musical theater, lovely restaurants, hiking, and of course discount shopping before it was ubiquitous. Then for a dozen years we'd spend a week at one or another inn or B&B in the area, travelling home to Ottawa through Lincoln by way of the Kancamagus Highway as we bade a fond farewell to NH. Haven't been back in twenty years, though.

Comeback it's still the same vibe! I live very close to North Conway!

I loved solving this, Al! I've never been to New Hampshire. It sounds wonderful. We are driving to Washington D.C. this weekend, getting there Saturday night. I know for sure we'll go through part of Pennsylvania, which is another state to which I've never been. The Northeastern states are all ones I've never seen, but I'm looking forward to the drive.

I play guitar, and recently Youtube's algorithm has been pushing "how to play like Jerry" videos on me. I nearly forgot how freaking amazing he was! Even the simplest songs like Peggy-O have brilliant guitar solos.

I love NH's motto, Jota...Iowa's is "Our liberties we prize and our rights we will maintain." I really love ours, too.

Whenever I drive back up to NH, I take my seatbelt off at the border - because it's legal to do so - and I shout "Live Free or Die!" And then I put my seatbelt back on because I'm not stupid lol
