Puzzle Description:

Sangoku (Dragon Ball) I really don't know what this is, but Sylvain requested it. Thus, I have no idea what to title this without giving it away. :-(

#1: Sylvain "WCPman" (qwerty) on Sep 14, 2008 [SPOILER]

you could name it Kamehameha

its the energy attack made famous by Sangoku

this is by the way the young version of the character, the older more mature version look way badass compare to this one

still very goog and its a mirror image of the manga

Sorry, I really had no idea who or what a "Sanguko" character was, or what you were looking for at all. Sorry if I did the wrong one, even if it was a "manga" or whatever that is. LOL
#3: Sylvain "WCPman" (qwerty) on Sep 14, 2008 [SPOILER]
Adam, manga is the term for japanese comic the tern anime is use to descrive a manga in the cartoon (animated) form and finally hentai are XXX anime

hope this help with your "knowledge" of japanese pop culture

BTW many of the cartoon we watch when we where young were anime but we just didn't know it.

And no need to be sorry this young and inoncent Sangoku is perfect, it was just that most of the image of him are from the adult version of him ( the whole DragonBallZ anime)

check wiki to know more about japanese "cartoon"

Thanks for the "Anime 101" course! :-)
#5: Beth (Shasta) on Sep 15, 2008
It looks like Ash from Pokemon. Very fun puzzle-thanks!
#6: Sylvain "WCPman" (qwerty) on Sep 15, 2008 [SPOILER]
all manga character basically look the same its a school of art all the same lign with variant now and then but all look pretty much alike

big eye, spiky hair, big mouth for the guy

big eye, very small waist, long legs, big breast

usually manga also have anamorphic character that seem very natural for everyone

You are funny, Sylvain. Thanks.
And thank you, Beth.

I knew who this would be as soon as I solved the top half. That hair is really distinctive :D

LOL.
#10: Jane Doe (telly) on Sep 18, 2008
well done, even though I'm not into anime. :)
#11: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Sep 18, 2008
I'm not either. This was only done as a request to Mr. Q.

I needed a good B/W fix, and looked for one that would fit my screen. Wow - great image and very challenging to solve. It took me awhile, but I really enjoyed it.

Thank you. I appreciate that.

Its a very good likeness. This character has a tail and can turn into a giant ape and so is often described as a "Monkey Boy". I think its very humorous that you were requested to make it and it fits your userid perfectly. You could always title it Monkey Boy.

Interesting. Thanks.

I love it! I personally don't watch DragonBall, but my brother does, so I can tell it's a really good likeness. I do like anime and manga, and I'm a little shocked that Adam didn't even know what manga was. Maybe that says more about me than him...

I thought it looked like Ash from Pokemon too, though I figured it couldn't be because this doesn't have a baseball cap.

It was really fun to solve, too! There was a nice mix of big and little blocks, and I didn't get stuck or frustrated. Again, the image is spot-on, and the hair is amazing.

When I first started solving it and I just had the hair, I kept thinking of Oasis, a character from Sluggy Freelance, which is probably the best webcomic out there. It's another great way to waste time online, other than solving puzzles. :) She's not anime/manga animation, but she really does have hair that weird. Here's a link to where you can see her. I highly recommend this comic to anyone with a little time to waste. :)

Great job, Adam! Thanks for making such a fun puzzle. :)

once I was almost done with the easy bit I knew exactly what it was. I'm so glad Sylvain requested this of you and that you obliged, because I so loved doing this one. I'm also so glad it didn't have a title because any title would have spoiled it very early on. Love the title. Love the puzzle, wouldn't change a thing

Thank you.

Awesome image even tho I don't know the character. Tough, doable puzzle that took a lot of redos and no guessing.
