With the circular start, I thought it might be that certain scary microscopic topic of the year.

Haven't seen the show yet... but tempted by all the hype.

Is it me, or is this one antenna away from a Teletubby?

We tried watching the first episode last night. It got too violent for me (I have a low tolerance for watching violence) and I wandered away. My oldest kept watching and says it's not my cup of tea. :-S

We've also been working our way through watching M*A*S*H. I'm amused that the show set in the middle of a war is gentle and non-violent, while the show about a kids' game is more violent than I can handle.

My two-word review of the Squid Game is "bloody depressing." It's super depressing and super bloody.

But it is compelling, and I watched the whole thing.

No, Bullet, you are not the only one who knows nothing about this movie on Netflix. But after reading about it online, I know I will never watch it. Don't like violent gore. Give me a good G rated movie anytime. Ha ha.

I've heard of it, but figured early on that it's not my thing. Now that I read your notes, yup, not my thing.

As for this puzzle, I was ready for a mask. Silly me!

Great illustration. Poor movie. Very doable puzzle with no guessing.

I also knew nothing about this show, but based on the above I will give it a pass. Thanks for the puzzle. While solving I thought it was going to be someone with a covid face mask, the cheapest costume ever.

Squid Game is definitely not everyone's cup of tea.
It is pretty violent.
Reminded me of the old Japanese film Battle Royale (USA version was called Hunger Games)

My two cents worth -- I also know nothing about Squid Games, and very little about squids, for that matter. Per comment #10 -- I was thinking about painting a smile on my mask -- perhaps getting a flesh colored mask -- and going as a "maskless" trick-or-treator. Oh, well -- probably a year too late to be scary.
