Puzzle Description:

Can you name the game? And more importantly, can you see the white tokens?

This must be Go (or Othello)

No and no, sigh. But I like the geometrics.

Well when you say there are white tokens in there hehe I'm guessing it's Go.
I used to live in Japan and in the newspaper there would be Go puzzles (like we have chess puzzles) and on daytime television I remember seeing Go puzzle shows.

It does look a lot like Go, but it also resembles this Colonial game, the name of which I can't remember, that had a similar-looking board. I played it a few times and hated it, so I don't remember much about it. I do remember that the pieces, both black and white, could only move along the lines. Does this ring a bell for anyone else, though?

Another vote for Go. Or Pente. Not Othello, because there the pieces go inside the squares, not at the intersections. Anyway, Pente already had a turn, so that makes Go more likely.

You are correct Kristen. I tried to learn to play Go and found that it made my brain hurt.

What Valerie said. I've played exactly one complete game, against someone who played a lot. It was about 40 years ago, and my brain still hurts a bit ...

No.
