Hope you don't mind that I solved it on a Saturday...

At first, I thought it was a bike helmet, which made the puzzle description kinda yikes! :) nice job

OK, but what's crunchy about Tuesday?
[Maybe that's a spoiler?]

"Taco Tuesday" usually indicates a tradition of eating Tacos or other Mexican food on Tuesday nights. Sometimes there is a sale, too.

I was wondering if I got Bastille Day wrong and thinking, wait, no, Bastille day -is- the 14th.

But I know I've tried to wait til a specific date to post an image, then I forgot about it.

Oh, also: edge logic on the 8 knocks a lot out quickly.

My calendar says that Wednesday is National Macaroni and Cheese Day (who knew?!), so I was sort of expecting this to be that!

Found to be solvable with moderate lookahead by gator.

The initial LL places 2 black cells.

EL on R1 completely places the 8 clue. Lots of LL.

EL on R20 makes R20C23-30 dots. LL to finish.

Nice puzzle.

Valerie do you remember that Wednesday is Prince Spaghetti day? It was an old advertising slogan.
#9: Bill Eisenmann (Bullet) on Jul 13, 2021 [SPOILER]
Eew, macaroni and cheese tacos!
#10: Valerie Mates (valerie) on Jul 14, 2021 [SPOILER]
Bill: Hm. That actually sounds kind of good! Macaroni and cheese in a hard taco shell? It would need a salad to go with it, but that actually could be good!

Michael: Nope, I didn't know about Prince Spaghetti day.

In other news, today is supposedly national macaroni and cheese day, so my kids and I actually did have macaroni and cheese for dinner. It was vegan and made from scratch, and felt a little like celebrating a holiday from Somebody Else's Religion, but we liked it.

Which way did you make vegan mac? I'm a longtime vegan and make mine old school style with nutritional yeast and a roux.

Karen - Here's my vegan macaroni and cheese recipe. I'm allergic to nutritional yeast, so it is yeast-free. For this particular batch, I used homemade pasta from an electronic pasta making machine, which was fun and yummy! I am not a vegan, but I definitely have some vegan tendencies.
