Puzzle Description:

... but Pitfall Harry! Jumping across a lake of alligators. Or were they crocodiles? Many years after my Atari was gone, I pulled up an emulator to solve Pitfall. And Pitfall 2. I have good memories of the original game and of finally solving them. Quite challenging. Neat to see how people made maps, etc. of it, too. The two random-ish red dots are so there is no alternate solution.

Fun image! As soon as I solved your other new puzzle ("Old School Top Chef"), I knew from the title what this was going to be before I even started.

At the time, it seemed like such a huge graphics leap from the Atari 2600 to the Activision console! This was a fun but often frustrating game for that system. Collision detection between 'sprites' (graphic elements) was extremely absolute, so even if the one pixel of your Harry's brushed a gator or snake, death.

I adored Pitfall. When I first started to create puzzles on this site, I had the urge to create a Pitfall Harry puzzle, until I solved a few dozen virtually-identical Super Mario puzzles.

The trees and alligator pond really add to the puzzle!

Oh I loved Pitfall!

Besmirched -- Ours was on the Atari 2600. I don't remember an Activision console.

Andrew -- I didn't know it had a solution! I thought it just recycled the same several types of rooms (outdoorses?) forever and ever.

The activision console was a knock-off 2600

I remember Kaboom!

The Atari 2600 game that I loved the best was Stampede. I looked it up and that was made by Activision too!
