The whole time I'm solving, I'm thinking let's make like a flower and.......???
#2: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on May 27, 2021 [SPOILER]
I tried no to make it look TOO much like a flower. :)
#3: JoDeen Mozena (ozymoe) on May 27, 2021 [SPOILER]
I thought it was going to be "blossom" and "bust out!" while I was solving...LOL...nice one!

Good one!

Weird - looking banana ...

By the way, is it true that a banana is a flower?
#7: Jota (jota) on May 28, 2021
Loved the solve and bananas are indeed a plant and a fruit, but a flower?

Really like this one. I did have to guess once. It's a great illustration.

Found to be solvable with moderate lookahead by gator.

After the initial line/color logic, all of the red, green, and blue will be solved and some black filled in.

EL on R1 makes R1C14-15 dots. LL.

EL on R2 makes R2C1 and R2C14-15 dots. LL.

We know that either R19C10 or R20C10 will be a black. In either case, this forces R19-20C11 to be black. LL.

EL on R18 makes R18C6-8 dots. LL to finish.

Very nice solve!

thanks :)

Very interesting expression, given that atoms can be forced to split but will never split on their own.

Excellent puzzle!

The nucleus may not willingly split, but they trade electrons all the time!
#14: Valerie Mates (valerie) on Feb 15, 2024 [HINT]
Gator, I got stuck, so I followed your hint. Where it says, "EL on R18 makes R18C6-8 dots," I could only get edge logic to make row 18 columns 7-8 dots, not column 6. But from there line logic worked to finish the puzzle, so I am not sure that this matters!
