It's a book by Dave Barry. I read it to the 5th graders and turned them all into Dave Barry fans. Can a group of kids on a school trip stop a nefarious plot against the white house? With a dragon?

I thought you were remembering your own worst class trip and got very confused when a dragon appeared in the bottom left corner :D

I thought your worst class trip was the time they made you go to Jurassic Park :)
It'll be fun, they said.
It'll be educational, they said.
However, they failed to mention the feral velociraptors.

For awhile while solving I thought this was going to feature two giant angry green blob monsters.

Dave Barry is a national treasure. It was fun getting to read his books to the kids on zoom school. Thanks for the comments.

Weird -- I never came back here after I read the book. It had some very memorable parts, especially the scene in this picture. Belita - Thank you for recommending it!
