funny one
#2: Bill Eisenmann (Bullet) on Mar 26, 2021 [SPOILER]
Already having, and will continue to have, a HUGE blockage of international shipping of EVERYTHING.
#3: Lollipop (lollipop) on Mar 26, 2021 [SPOILER]
And have you seen the photos of the crane and boats trying to dislodge it? They look like tiny Dinky Toys compared with the size of the ship.
#4: Steve (stevieb) on Mar 26, 2021
Where's the tiny bulldozer? :D
#5: Jota (jota) on Mar 26, 2021
Amazing

Ha! I've been sharing memes of this all day, but it still took me halfway through the solve to recognize it. :) So embarrassing (and costly)!

Between the image and the title, I was thinking of a zipper tab on blue material...
#8: Christine Freer (cfreer) on Mar 27, 2021 [HINT] [SPOILER]
Ship is actually named EVER GIVEN - owned by the Evergreen shipping company
#9: Ga Hendrick (GaHendrick) on Mar 27, 2021
My guess would have been one of those "Chinese traps" that yo put a finger from each hand into and then have to escape.
#10: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Mar 27, 2021
I mean, you're not too far off!
#11: BlackCat (BlackCat) on Mar 27, 2021 [HINT]
My impression was the same as Ga Hendrick: I thought it was a Chinese finger trap. It is neat that you got a puzzle out so quick about a current event. Nice attempt.
#12: S Stahl (sastahl) on Mar 28, 2021 [SPOILER]
What a wonderful, on time puzzle! I was just talking to my daughter about the situation, and then I looked at the puzzle and realized what I was working on. Thank you, Brian!

Not even done solving, but laughing because I know what it is. Nice! :D
#14: Eccentric Hat (eccentric.hat) on Mar 29, 2021
Thanks for the laugh!
#15: JoDeen Mozena (ozymoe) on Mar 31, 2021 [SPOILER]
I'm kind of scratching my head because I'm wondering why this is funny? Great puzzle by the way, Brian. I keep thinking this is causing a lot of headaches for people, some who maybe can't afford to have a delay and it may actually spell disaster for them.

Does anyone know why this occurred?
#16: Jota (jota) on Mar 31, 2021
Apparently human error as always!
#17: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Apr 1, 2021
I heard it was a bad storm, that drove the Ever Given off kilter.

I think it's more ironically funny, in an "it's only funny because it happened to them, and not to me" kind of way.

More of a gallows humor, than anything. Case in point: https://imgur.com/gallery/yE4vsHp
