A fan blade. You can see the thin little metal/plastic lines that make up the front screen, and a little of the surrounding metal/plastic rim in the bottom left corner.

Sorry, these are designed to be hard. I want everyone's opinion (of those who solve these).... should I make them easier?????

If everyone is frustrated with how hard they are to figure out, then I have failed. I was hoping these would be fun to solve, and fun to guess. Most of them are very easy to solve, yet hard to guess, right?
#8: Nancy Snyder (naneki) on Sep 11, 2008
don't change a thing...
#9: Jane Doe (telly) on Sep 11, 2008

You're officially evil, Adam! I have a paper I should be writing right now, but instead I'm working your puzzles. I'm blaming you if I get a bad grade on this paper... :)

I saw the end of a curtain, with tassels hanging from it. These are really hard to guess, I've almost given up trying. This one was hard to see, too. I'm still not sure I see it right. I do like most of your close-ups though, we get the satisfaction of completing it, plus the satisfaction of figuring out and seeing a difficult image. It's interesting that pretty much all of your small puzzles are close-ups though, are you just bad at scaling things down? Probably you just want it to be a really good, detailed image, and it needs to be big for that. :)

I'm working my way through the close-ups quickly, I'm going to run out soon, which will be bittersweet... thankfully you still have lots of other puzzles!

I thought it was the test pattern for a new tire tread design.

your close-up puzzles are always fun. 2 puzzles in one. I love trying to guess. it's fun. my guesses -- end of that Chinese thing that get your index fingers stuck, a sebra with serious self-image issues; tire treads; tiny little escalators in an ant farm.

I see a super close-up pic of a pencil...tip to be off the page - to the lower right. It seems so obvious to me! :)
#15: Walter Jodrey (ssdcwwj) on Jan 3, 2017
I see a disposable razor.

What happened to the answer being posted in a couple of days? It's been years! I'm a knitter, so I see rows of knitting with a yarn-over lace pattern at the lower right. I'm pretty sure that's not the answer.
#17: Byrdie (byrdie) on Jul 18, 2021
The answer is in post #1 - you'll note the poster is the same person as the one who created the PBN.
#18: Belita (belita) on Jul 18, 2021
Oh. Duh.
#19: BRASH ATAOM (BRASHatAOM) on Jun 6, 2022
I thought it was the lace top of a garter nylon....right before it becomes sheer.
