Puzzle Description:
Anyone remember this game?
#1: Sylvain "WCPman" (qwerty) on Sep 9, 2008 [SPOILER]
Tetris???#2: Shae (shaekin) on Sep 9, 2008 [SPOILER]
CONNECT FOUR!!!! :) It took me a second to figure out how the move was winning. Obviously I was a terrible player.#3: Sylvain "WCPman" (qwerty) on Sep 9, 2008 [SPOILER]
I feel stupid rigth now#4: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Sep 9, 2008 [SPOILER]
it was so ovious
videogame are bad for the brain now I see what they mean...
Ditto exactly #2, word for word. The only thing I would add would be that I, personally, would place my red piece in the 2nd column, not the fourth, just for ease of seeing the winning move! LOL#5: Stephanie Walker (callmeseverus) on Sep 9, 2008
For the longest time, as I started to fill in the reds and blacks, I keep thinking it was some sort of weird checkers set-up.
One more thing.... as I sat looking at this picture, I counted each person's pieces (each has placed 14 so far). Yet how is it possible that RED has the top piece on every column?
I thought it was Tetris, too.#6: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Sep 9, 2008
Pretty sneaky, Sis.
You two are sisters? Who knew??? LOL#7: Nancy Snyder (naneki) on Sep 9, 2008 [SPOILER]
I knew it was connect 4 right away (good visual)#8: ErgoDyne (ergodyne) on Sep 10, 2008 [HINT] [SPOILER]
:)
Ha, Adam! I didn't even realize that red seems to have the top position. I didn't even THINK about that, Adam. I just tried to put an even number of pieces on the board.#9: Meg Smith (mamadragonfreak) on Sep 10, 2008 [SPOILER]
Everytime I added a piece, I realized that I opened up another winning spot, so I had to change it.
Thanks for the comments, guys =)
connect 4 all the way#10: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Sep 10, 2008
and red has such an advantage this way!!!
lol#11: Jane Doe (telly) on Sep 11, 2008 [SPOILER]
that just means that black was really bad to begin with cuz they must have gotten the first several moves without any red to block their way.#12: Andrew Schultz (blurglecruncheon) on Aug 4, 2022 [SPOILER]
Fun puzzle. Good job.
I was thinking the same thing Stephanie thought. That commercial is a classic.

Also, it was interesting to read someone wrote a Master's thesis on whether or not Connect Four is won for the first player or a draw.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Connect_Four has all the information, if we haven't broken our brains enough on puzzles that require moderate lookahead.
