Are you a violist?
#3: Joanne Firla (JoFirla) on Feb 14, 2021
This is an extremely hard piece to perform. You have my utmost respect.
#4: Jota (jota) on Feb 14, 2021
The place you live in sound awesome, plus Violin, idyllic.

Hi Lenore and Joanne and Jota, thanks for the comments. We are really spoiled here with so much to keep us busy. I have played viola over 55 years, as an amateur but I am principal in the local symphony in the city next door. We were just asked to record it for the symphony server - if I remember I might post a reference for you here, if there are no performance copyright issues. We performed the whole Divertimento once last year, two days before Covid shut down almost everything in the province.

I never did learn the alto clef. Just bass for cello and treble for clarinet (and everything else)

I am a violinist who also plays viola. I was a member of the Phoenix Symphony for 30 years, and retired due to arthritis. I'm now a music teacher and conduct with both my violin and viola with my student orchestra!

Hi Lenore, we never managed to hear the Phoenix Symphony when we were visiting. My sister-in-law has a view of Camelback out her back yard. What is wonderful about being an amateur violist is that wherever we were, I found an orchestra to play with, as many are happy to have an extra viola (AOV in Vienna, Henley (UK), Ottawa, Symphony New Brunswick and now North Bay Symphony).

Neat idea for a puzzle.

A pretty easy puzzle with an amazing result. Thank you!

It is C minor :)
#12: Donald Clysdale (don) on Feb 20, 2021
Some goes into minor, but my Barenreiter part calls it Divertimento in Es or in English, Divertimento in E-flat major. Even the Minore in the 4th movement Andante is in 5 flats, or Bb minor. But I am not a musicologist, and just play. I dropped music after grade 10 in high school to take more science, but somehow kept on playing.

I have always loved Mozart.
