Puzzle Description:

I learned that there is a musical instrument called the steel pan. At first I thought it may have been the origin of the name "Tin Pan Alley" but apparently it isn't. It originated in Trinidad and Tobago and consists of a drum-shaped pan with a curved bottom, and the player hits various sections of the curve to play different notes.

Here's a cool video of these instruments.

I was going to share Spyro Gyra's "Morning Dance", but it turns out they used a marimba, not steel drums. Heck, I'll share it anyway, because it's a good song. :)

Oh cool!
When I was a little kid, we would sometimes find a few steel drum players on a street corner near Central Park. I loved that!

This isn't exactly the same as what I grew up with, but it is steel drumming in NYC (on a subway platform!) --

It sounds like I was the only one that had never heard of the steel pan. Well I'm glad I got to hear them on an on-line concert. Thanks for your comments and videos.
