How about a women putting on lipstick.#12: Marie-Louise Ambrey (marz) on Sep 9, 2008
It sort of looks like a pipe wrench, what plumbers use, but I am pretty sure it's not.#13: Jane Doe (telly) on Sep 9, 2008
a hole punch?#14: Nancy Snyder (naneki) on Sep 9, 2008
I can see the upper back side of an office chair#15: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Sep 9, 2008
Out of all the wrong guesses, I have to vote for Jan Young's as the best so far (no offense to all of the others, they were good too). Answer tomorrow! :-)#16: doreen (doreenfanning) on Sep 9, 2008
I wish I could see the answer now. Once I solve a puzzle I almost never go back to it again. So, I guess I'll just never know what it is. And by tomorrow, I probably won't care what it is, certainly not enough to go back looking for it. On these kinds of puzzles, can you find a way to tell those who want to know what it is, and keep it hidden for those who don't?#17: Gypso (Gypso) on Sep 9, 2008 [SPOILER]

Maybe my idea to put the answer later on wasn't a good one Adam, seems to be causing a bit of discord amongst some users, might be better to go back to your original set up? Sorry! :)#19: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Sep 9, 2008 [SPOILER]

Oh, am I stupid or what, I have three of these around the house, in full view too, this puzzle really intrigued me, no wonder, lol! Good work :)#22: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Sep 9, 2008
Thanks!#23: Jane Doe (telly) on Sep 9, 2008
great image!#24: Jan Young (haidapup) on Sep 9, 2008
Doreen to see what the answers are to Adams "Close Ups" are (or for any other puzzles)just click on the Forum button on the left side and go to New replies to your postings. LOL......I just realized she's not going to read this if she doesn't know that already.#25: Nancy Snyder (naneki) on Sep 10, 2008
lol probably true Jan#26: Jan Wolter (jan) on Sep 11, 2008
It occurs to me that these close-up constitute a class of puzzle in which the goal is (sort of) to make an unrecognizable image. A bit strange, and maybe not entirely satisfying.#27: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Sep 11, 2008
I am sorry you don't care for them. It seems like many others do. I want them just barely recognizable enough for solvers to maybe figure out what they might be a close-up of. I am not trying to disappoint anyone or make these too difficult. I have some advice from people (before I publish them) as to whether or not I need to make them easier or harder to guess (not to solve).#28: Jane Doe (telly) on Sep 11, 2008
I remember what you wrote before, saying something like "personally I don't care if this series continues or not." That actually made me want to continue, so thank you.
I like these, so please continue!#29: doreen (doreenfanning) on Sep 11, 2008
Yes, Jan Young, I did know that and I am doing it now, obviously, because I am here now. I guess I'm just saying that I would prefer to know immediately after I do the puzzle, not the next day, when I no longer care. But that's just me. I was hoping there was some way to satisfy me as well as others. I enjoy solving the puzzles, but don't really don't have any desire to guess at what they are when I'm done. Again, just me. Cranky old lady, that's me.#30: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Sep 11, 2008
Doreen, I hope what I have done helps you. You can find the answer immediately by looking in Forum #118 (for the answer to Close-up puzzles #21 and all the rest of the future ones)#31: Nancy Snyder (naneki) on Sep 11, 2008
but it lets people who want to guess have that opportunity as well.
Mr. Pleaser#32: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Sep 11, 2008
lol
Well, you know me, Teaser/Pleaser! :-)#33: Deana L (FFsWife) on Sep 11, 2008
Don't forget "Annoyer"... :P ;)#34: Jane Doe (telly) on Sep 11, 2008
Is that a word?? Hmmm... "Annoyance" doesn't have the same ring to it. ;)
so Adam, you're a tease? lol#35: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Sep 11, 2008
Yikes, Deana, I thought we had stopped this!#36: Deana L (FFsWife) on Sep 11, 2008
I'm teasing you Adam... teasing....#37: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Sep 11, 2008
Nevermind....
I know! I saw all the smiley faces! I was teasing you back, and then you got upset. LOL Oops.#38: Edith Clark (eclark) on Sep 26, 2011
I haven't even come close to guessing one. Since I have always done them days (if not months) after they are made, I have no wait to see what they are. :) They are very cool and it seems to me a lot of people are having a blast with them, so I say, "keep them coming."#39: Adam Nielson (monkeyboy) on Sep 26, 2011
