@3: Off topic, but the French have no issue feminizing trash. Their word for it is "la poubelle". Likely, they are not the only noun-genderizing language to do so, either. I, however, only know French and English, so I can't say for sure.

Hm. I decided to ask Google. I googled, "What gender is trash?" -- and Google replied "Men are trash."

Yep, we moved to Kalamazoo in 2001. We moved to Grand Rapids in 2004, then back south in '08, when the economy went bad. I was working at a hotel in south central Louisiana, when I discovered the site.
