Marjory, the all-seeing, all-knowing Trash Heap

Without brown or yellow, I fear she resembles Pizza the Hutt (from Spaceballs), but she was featured in Fraggle Rock as a font of wisdom for the Fraggles.

I love that her name is Marjory. I would have made the sexist assumption that a trash heap's gender would be male.

You must not have watched Fraggle Rock, then! She was the wise old matron :)

About 3/4 of the way through I started to think (hope) it might be the trash heap from Fraggle Rock. I love it!

Honestly, I went into this expecting Oscar the Grouch. Similar concept, I suppose, but completely different characters. I'm not familiar with the Trash-Heap, but she seems a lot less grumpy. :)

Re #7: Exactly! Oscar the Grouch is my icon of trashiness. That's why I thought it was so neat that Marjory is female. I missed Fraggle Rock entirely -- it was popular when I was in a years-long TV boycott. :-S

Re: #7 and #9, the Trash Heap seems to have more of a Realm. Oscar's can was just on the sidewalk, but to visit the Trash Heap, the Fraggles had to leave the safety of their caves, dodge the monstrous (but simple-minded) Gorgs, and call to her from the compost pile behind the garden.

@3: Off topic, but the French have no issue feminizing trash. Their word for it is "la poubelle". Likely, they are not the only noun-genderizing language to do so, either. I, however, only know French and English, so I can't say for sure.

Hm. I decided to ask Google. I googled, "What gender is trash?" -- and Google replied "Men are trash."

Food for thought. It made me laugh!

Yep, we moved to Kalamazoo in 2001. We moved to Grand Rapids in 2004, then back south in '08, when the economy went bad. I was working at a hotel in south central Louisiana, when I discovered the site.

Brilliant drawing! I choose to believe it's Pizza the Hut, even though you say it's not, and you'd better believe it to... Or else Pizza... is gonna send out... for YOU! :)
