a good finish of a bad day
#2: Susan Eberhardt (susaneber) on Jan 7, 2021
Whew! Still waiting for January 20 to exhale.
#3: Valerie Mates (valerie) on Jan 7, 2021
I am relieved too!

Could I ask you to add the word "political" to the titles of political puzzles? I know we have some people who prefer to avoid anything political. So it's helpful to have it in the title.

Double Ditto JoDeen

I greatly agree with JoDeen. I am so very happy that the Congress people were able to resume and finish the count. I greatly applaud the Congressional Aides who thought to protect the ballots. So smart and so courageous.

Both sides are being so hypocritical it is sickening. Complaining for years about how violence isn't "protest" and then doing something like that. You can't justify violence as protest when it suits your beliefs and domestic terrorism when it doesn't. Running around the capitol like a clown rodeo...hypocrits

good puzzle though

David, I don't think cool heads on either side have ever said violence was a proper form of protest. Peaceful demonstration has always been the aim of any protest I have ever attended. Fortunately, none of them have ever turned violent. Take a look at the rhetoric used when the protests have turned out that way...and who the speakers were...and the words they used to inflame the crowd. That's why it seems particularly egregious to me, not hypocritical, when peaceful demonstrators are attacked simply for exercising their constitutional rights...as has happened this past year. Of course this was not the case with the mob at the Capitol.

He wasn't even arrested.
A sedition without consequence is just training.

Waiting patiently to see if this ex president will ever be brought to justice. Of course there are others in Congress that enabled and continue to enable him. I wonder how many people realize how close we are to losing our Republic...losing our democratic way of life. It won't happen overnight, but if it is to be, this is how it took hold and accelerated...with a very inconsequential, self important, funny little man with bad hair, who didn't think the rules of society applied to him. It would help the situation greatly if voters would rid Congress of McConnell, another self important strutter who talks out of both sides of his mouth any time it suits him...cares only for wielding power...goes back on his word to get what he wants without batting an eyelash. Old Chicken Neck feels the law should work one way for Republicans such as he and quite the opposite way for Democrats.

Agree with Engelbrecht. Terrifying. Have we learnt nothing from WWII?!
#12: Bill Eisenmann (Bullet) on Jan 17, 2022
A year later and we're still waiting for justice and accountability.
Frightening quote, Christian!

David Bouldin?
Fuck you, both sides. There is only one side in the wrong here. That will never change. Fuck Putin's revisionism. The whole world saw that day exactly for what it was, in real time. And the wrong side lost.

Laughed so hard. I'm not even going to attempt to explain the nuances of what I was trying to say because, based on your rhetoric, it will matter very little. Do ask yourself why you are so against actual discourse and be secure enough in your beliefs to self-reflect on your own party. I guarantee you we are on the same side of almost all issues and yet, here you are trying to win an argument on the internet with brow-beating and aggression. If you find yourself believing 100% of everything on 100% of the issues espoused by the leaders of the party you most closely subscribe, you probably aren't thinking critically enough about the depth of the issues. You and I can keep voting the same way and you can keep yelling at me... and I'll keep trying to rationally convince people I actually know of why our side is in the right. Thanks for turning my mood around though, it has been a rough day, but it's looking up.
