Puzzle Description:

I just finished "The Night Watchman" by Louise Erdrich. An Indian sits at his desk between rounds going through the latest government bills trying to break old treaties. A snowy owl pecks at the window, a portent of death according to Indian legend. The ghost of a boy who died of TB sits on a piece of equipment talking to the man. Will the tribe be eradicated or will they win this battle with the government?

I think of Rembrandt's painting, when I hear "The Night Watch(man)." I did a miniature version, in #28526. Here's the full painting: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Night_Watch#/media/File:The_Night_Watch_-_HD.jpg

Overall I think the puzzle is a good illustration of the story. I do have difficulty with the image of the person at the desk.

I'm not good at doing people. But Indians tend to wear their hair long, so that's supposed to be a pony tail behind him.
