Hm, I was thinking sakura blossom, but the stem suggested otherwise. Kristen, I totally see the soapwort and just learned something new.

It looks kinda like a pansy, but not quite, which is too bad, because I really like pansies. They trigger some of my earliest childhood memories. And although pansies are supposedly annuals, they are self-seeders, and I have a good number of them that are back for year 3!

I can see sakura as well. I did a lot of image searching, to find a 5-petaled flower with the "notches" at the tips.

Very pretty.
