Puzzle Description:

howl

#1: Brian Bellis (mootpoint) on Apr 18, 2020 [SPOILER]

Apparently, some are howling at 8:00 each evening in support of health workers. I haven't heard anyone near me. But perhaps I open up the windows tonight and listen.

Yes! Sometimes you do ...
#3: Gator (gator) on Apr 18, 2020 [HINT]
After initial LL, two way logic to finish the 2 clue in R13 will make it so that either R12C14 or R12C16 is black. That makes the rest of the row dots. The same logic happens for R11. Some more LL.

If the 5 clue in C14 extends up to R5 (the highest it could go), then R5C15 and R7C15 would have to be dots making C15 invalid as the 4 clue could not be placed. So R10C14 is black. More LL.

Two way logic on the 2 clue in R9, makes either R8C13 or R8C15 black. This makes R8C11-12, R8C14, and R8C16 dots. More LL.

Edge logic in R1 makes R1C7-9 dots. Follow that up with edge logic in R2 to make R2C7-9 dots. LL to finish.

Very fun puzzle!

Found to be solvable with moderate lookahead by gator.

We have organized howling in some parts of St. Louis. In other parts, there is a nightly candle tribute or a sing-along.

Very nice. I thought it was the Coca cola besrl I like this better.
#7: Joe (infrapinklizzard) on Apr 18, 2020 [HINT]
I did Gator's first two paragraphs, and then

EL 2 r1 = c7-9, c17 white
LL

EL 3 r2 = c7-9 w
LL to finish

Surprisingly tricky for its size.
#9: Bill Eisenmann (Bullet) on Apr 20, 2020 [SPOILER]
The weird high-heeled pump suddenly morphed!
#10: Carol Brand (KarylAnn) on Apr 20, 2020
I agree with Deborah that this was a tricky little puzzle! Here Suffolk County, LI, NY, we clap at 7pm. Maybe tonight, I will howl as well! Stay healthy everyone!

If you have the image facing left instead of right, it is a bear, sitting at a bar with its right forepaw on the bar, and a flask or bottle in front of it. Sometimes you just gotta! :)

My brother-in-law worked in NYC for 3 weeks in the Covid-19 hospital and he said it was amazing to listen to at night. Really encouraging.
#14: David Bouldin (dbouldin) on Jul 29, 2021 [HINT]
after LL, (internal edge logic) the 3 in R2 can't go in C7-9 because it would force a 1 in R1 or R3. LL to finish.

fun solve!
