I once beat a friend with this play-on-words in a round of Apples to Apples. She was doing really well and I just wanted to get one measly green card, so I fought during this round. I believe the green card word was breath-taking, but I don't remember clearly. She played marriage proposal and I played Saturn. I thought I had it made. She, however, is really, like really, intelligent. She made some very clever points, most of which I don't remember. But because she had the best argument and I had the best card, it was down to us. I pointed out how beautiful it was to look at pictures of the planet from space. She got to the point where she was instructing the judge to imagine the man of her dreams getting down one one knee and showing her the ring. Then I said, "Saturn doesn't need to put a rind on it. It's already got a ring. Several." And the judge gave me the card because I proved I wanted it so bad. I still lost the whole game, though. I got dealt some really lousy cards. But I remember the small victory. ^-^

Sounds like a fun game, Aurelian.

It is. It really works the part of your brain that we use to persuade or convince. It's not my forte, but it is not incredibly difficult to play. It is very difficult to win if you get dealt the sucky cards the whole game, which depends entirely on the green cards and how the judge thinks. What could win with one player will mean nothing to another. My greatest strategy: know thy judge.
