While solving, I thought, "a Globey?" "Oh, duh, a Golden Globe"#2: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Apr 10, 2020 [SPOILER]
EDIT: even though I've watched the Tony awards multiple times, I never paid attention to what the actual trophy looked like. I was mainly watching for the performances. :)
I still don't know what EGOT could be. EGAT could be Every Golden Award Trophy, but I dunno about EGOT.#3: Minnie Fuerstnau (Minnie F.) on Apr 10, 2020
Could it possibly be Ego Trip?#4: Kathy Cain (kathycain) on Apr 10, 2020 [SPOILER]
Thank you everyone for many pleasant hours spent solving these puzzles for years and years, and most especially now. :)
EGOT stands for Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony. Only a handful of people have won all four.#5: Kathy Cain (kathycain) on Apr 10, 2020 [SPOILER]
This one is the Tony Award, short for Antoinette Perry. These awards are for live theater on Broadway. I don't really follow who wins all these awards, and I don't watch the actual award shows. But I volunteer with performing arts organizations in St. Louis. I read a lot of scripts and musical scores.#6: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Apr 10, 2020 [SPOILER]
I have a LOT of friends who work(ed) in Theatre, and watch the Tony awards every year.#7: Brian Bellis (mootpoint) on Apr 10, 2020
Which EGOT getter is the GOAT?#8: Kathy Cain (kathycain) on Apr 10, 2020 [SPOILER]
It's hard to choose a GOAT. A few people also won either a Pulitzer Prize or a Peabody Award, making them PEGOTs. That status probably puts them in the running for GOAT.
