When I taught chemistry, I would have to eject students from lab for wearing their goggles like this.

Would you eject them if they wore goggles steampunk style on a hat?

I wouldn't blame you, but at least compliment then on their dapper sense of style first.

In all my years of teaching, I only had one student need to use the eyewash. She thought lab was over while cleaning up. She blew into a test tube to get the last bit of anhydrous copper sulfate out of the bottom. Her lab partner did just the right thing and pulled her to the eyewash station and flushed while I got on the phone and called the nurse who was there in under a minute. I was so worried that there might be permanent damage from the exothermic rehydration, but her lab partner's quick action probably saved her vision. I called home that afternoon. Her eyes were fine. She was back at school the next day. I nominated her lab partner for a school wide award.

Wow. That's scary.
