A plumber once told me that he was told as a kid that if you grabbed a skunk by the tail it wouldn't spray. So one day he saw a skunk by the side of the road and crept up on it really slowly in the ditch. The skunk didn't care because that's how skunks do.#2: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Mar 15, 2020
He got up right behind it and could reach the tail, and then he froze. The skunk continued to browse a little, then looked him straight in the eye.
And then after about half an hour it calmly waddled off. The plumber said he finally let out his breath. That half-hour was only a minute or so, but it sure felt a lot longer.
My son had a skunk for a while. It, of course, had been de-flowered. He was really cute and a lot of fun. Very playful.#3: besmirched tea (Besmirched Tea) on Mar 16, 2020 [SPOILER]
I do not think that word means what you think it means#4: Joanne Firla (JoFirla) on Mar 16, 2020 [SPOILER]
When my uncle was a little boy, he tried to play with the "pretty kitty." It ended with bathing in tomato juice in the backyard and the burning of his clothing.#5: Vicki Woods (vickicwoods) on Mar 16, 2020
What about common sense? Who needs a law for that? LOL#6: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Mar 16, 2020
@#3. Must be a local slang where the phrase was borrowed from another meaning to apply to removing the source of the wonderful "flowery" smell emanating from a skunk.#7: Joe (infrapinklizzard) on Mar 16, 2020 [SPOILER]
I imagine it's a pun based on the skunk in "Bambi" whose name was Flower.#8: Teresa K (fasstar) on Mar 18, 2020
I really enjoyed this one, Belita! Love the stories too.#9: jewel crown (jewel) on Mar 24, 2020
Excellent image.#10: Michael A Rodgers (marodgers) on Sep 10, 2021
I have come across a mother with babies in the middle of the night. I just lowered my flashlight and slowly backed away.
