Hmm, let me look at another all-white puzzle...
OK, this seems to be a "feature" of all-white puzzles. So definitely not worth fixing. But interesting to think about.
A white puzzle would count as a one-color puzzle, so it must be some sort of weird count thing, like the color of the buttons are indexed from the foreground color. So black would be the base. r=+1, g=+2, b=+3 and white would =-1.
But if the foreground color is already white , subtracting one would wrap back to the top which is assumed to be at least black (because what idiot would make a puzzle with no foreground color at all? ((Me, for one)) ).
That's my guess, anyway.
