I have a friend getting married in a few days, that is, Feb 28, 2020. I told him that if he and his fiancée chose to get married one day later, their true anniversaries would only be once every four years. He laughed.

But then, I suppose March 1 would suffice on the off years. He's a sweetie and a gentleman. He wouldn't use it as an excuse to gyp her out of anniversary celebrations.
