Puzzle Description:

The cartwheel - I would do a whole bunch in a row as a kid and WOW did you get dizzy. For me - mostly just color logic throughout and some smile logic mixed in later.

Super cute! Mike, when you're on the creation screen, does it tell you it's solvable by logic alone, or does it toggle alternate solutions?

I also was able to solve this with color logic and then a bit of smile logic at the end. Definitely a challenge though, and I enjoyed it!

Kristen - This is what it said on the creation screen:
"You should check manually to see if this puzzle is solvable without guessing." It is a unique solution and toggled no alternates. I solved it twice before publishing and believe no guessing is required.
Michael - thanks, glad you enjoyed it.

Indeed intricate color logic and lot of smiles until the BIG one after completing.

I also agree with smile logic, especially on the green. It's the only lookahead I needed. Otherwise, it's just a lot of keeping track of where colors can go.

Mental and physical gymnastics -- great!

I can further verify a lot of smile logic, and I smiled myself.

Jota/Andrew - glad I could make you smile. I enjoyed making this one.

There was a lot of both color and smile logic, but you can't use only those two. Some of the smiles are spoiled by some loose pixels.

After LL/CL
Smile logic finishes green on left figure,
Smile logic finishes red on left figure,
Smile logic finishes the red on the center figure
Smile logic finishes the green on the right figure.
(Note that in each of these cases the respective clues are forced into the area of the smile.)

Smile logic CANNOT be done on the green on the center figure as the second green 1 in r3 could be in c34!
Smile logic CANNOT be done on the red on the right figure as one of the red 1s could be in c29!

CL finishes the red on the center-right figure.
Distant Edge logic green 3 r5 (vs r3) = c25 white (or it would create a block of two green in r3c21-22)
LL finishes the green and blue
Now the red on the right figure can be solved with smile logic to finish the puzzle

Found to be solvable with moderate lookahead by infrapinklizzard.

Hmm, the smile I finished with could be done right after the color logic on the center-right figure, but you still could not do smile logic on the green in the center.

What a great image of a cartwheel in motion. Excellent.

Excellent illustration. Fun to solve and remember. I am over 70 and I still remember how proud I was when I could finally do it correctly. Great fun.

Good puzzle all with line and color logic and just a few of smile logic.
#14: Valerie Mates (valerie) on Jan 24, 2024 [HINT]
Fun picture and a fun solve!

Joe, I am pretty sure that I was able to solve it only with color logic and smile logic, though I did have to save some of the smile logic until the very end while I used color logic to eliminate alternatives for where the smile pixels could have gone.

Un puzzle muy gracioso. Me recuerda mi época juvenil.
