For years I've been advocating for changing the melody from Twinkle Twinkle to Yankee Doodle Dandy, cuz:#6: Ga Hendrick (GaHendrick) on Nov 26, 2019 [SPOILER]
1. With TT you have to add the whole "Now I know my ABCs ..." so it musically resolves, "z" arriving right in the middle of a phrase. Sing it to YDD and Z comes right at the end of the melodic phrase.
2. TT begins with a major 5th (c c - g g ...), which is a difficult bridge for a little kid.
3. With YDD you don't have to cram five letters into two beats ("elemenopee"), or have awkward pauses between S and T, and between V and W, and don't need the "and" between Y and Z.

The melody is shortened a bit, because it requires fewer syllables.
