I left a blank column in this puzzle to keep the size a multiple of five. I find puzzles with 34 columns confusing because the block of four columns at the end looks too much like a five column block and messes up my counting. It's not an image that can easily be modified to make it one pixel wider. I thought leaving a blank column was a lesser annoyance.#3: Mark Conger (aruba) on Dec 23, 2005 [HINT]

I couldn't do it. As soon as I knew what it was, I filled in some that I wouldn't have otherwise been able to. I really appreciate it being a a multiple of five. Otherwise it is more work to count.#7: Robert Kummerfeldt (rmkummerfeldt) on Aug 2, 2007 [HINT]

Yeah, edge logic and some patience were the kicker on this one :D#9: Adam Nielson (monkey) on Jun 5, 2008 [HINT]

Jane and Adam must be working their way through the puzzles numerically! Every time I check the forum, you both have comments added to these older puzzles! I jump around, so I've solved some of the older ones but certainly not all of them. I remember that this one sat in my partial list for a loooong time until I finally found what I was missing.#12: Adam Nielson (monkey) on Jun 27, 2008
Yes, Arduinna. At least for me. I am new to this site (relatively) and so I am doing 3 sets of puzzles. I have started solving them numerically from the very first (I am around #400 now), I have started working backwards from the most recent ones (I have gotten back to about 2300), and I continue to do the very newest ones each time they pop up.#13: Jota (Jota) on Jul 20, 2008

Do I get a prize ?
with that many "loved it" I should hope so :}#19: Patricia de Andrade Mota (kaba) on Jul 20, 2008
Until I finally hit that one cell that made all fall in place I coudn't quite believe it wouldn't require guessing. Very good!#20: Levi Ross (rhodyboy888) on Nov 18, 2008 [HINT]
And I agree about the multiples of 5.

Though I can't completely put my finger on why, I really liked this puzzle and gave it high marks.#23: giovanni seidner (giovannisei) on Dec 7, 2009
I'll admit this one had a rather long period of blank stare time before I hit that "aha" moment. There were a couple little spots that suddenly clicked and from there it solved rather quickly.
I like that it's symetrical in parts and yet challengingly (did I just make up a word?!) not in others.
dude, i'de like this...#24: Jan Wolter (jan) on Dec 7, 2009 [SPOILER]

I relied on a lot of symmetry to solve this, but I can handle symmetry :)#28: Thomas Genuine (Genuine) on Nov 23, 2021
This marks a fun milestone, because I only have 5000 puzzles left to solve.
Excuse me, but an eight-candle lighting (nine with shamus) has a special name: Hanukkiah. Menorah has always seven candles.#29: Valerie Mates (valerie) on Nov 24, 2021 [HINT] [SPOILER]
In our family we celebrate Christmas and Hanukka at the same time if it's in the same time. Hebrew calendar is more complicated so the date is changing.
