Very pretty. If I had pierced ears I would want a pair.
#7: Teresa K (fasstar) on Oct 29, 2019
Kristen, I knew you would like them. :-)

Thanks, Norma. They are star sapphires, perhaps.
#8: David Bouldin (dbouldin) on Oct 30, 2019

#9: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Oct 30, 2019
Sapphire is my birthstone. I have a ring with a black star sapphire.
#10: Teresa K (fasstar) on Oct 30, 2019
Hey, David and Norma, isn't that just the most beautiful gem ever?
#11: Norma Dee (norm0908) on Oct 30, 2019
I rarely wear jewelry, but I always wear my ring It was designed for me by a friend of mine and my husband's. He owned a store in Scottsdale and designed and made all the jewelry in his store. He was later joined by his talented daughter. He and his wife were good friends of Paolo Soleri and we got to meet him a few times A very interesting and intelligent man.

I'm in a similar boat, rarely wear jewlery but always wear my ring. My girlfriend had mine made the way she wanted in Sri Lanka (aka "Ceylon") with a local gem. Both of her parents are Sri Lankan and she's first generation American, so as a part of her heritage and culture it means the world to me because she means the world to me.

You have something very special, David.
#14: David Bouldin (dbouldin) on Nov 1, 2019
AND i have the ring! ;)

nice! What's the local gem? Apparently Sri Lanka is lousy with gems. "Although Sri Lanka is largely known for precious sapphires and rubies, the main types of gemstones found in Sri Lanka belongs to five major categories, which are; corundum, chrysoberyl, spinel, garnet and tourmaline."

It's a blue star sapphire set into a nice chunky silver ring :)
