Well, that is a symbol, and that is an earring, but those words are not in the answer. The first one is another perspective of "you got mail" and the second one is descriptive, said by someone who cannot retrieve the word earring.

Marie-Louise, you almost have it! "I use email" is correct for the at symbol. There is only one "s" so only one ear thingy. Shape is important here.
