Whoa JoDeen. I think you need to make the quilt. It'll take your mind off of all that other stuff going on.
Sorry about your mom, but at least she is going to where she can have help. My grandmother won't budge from her home and we all worry about her being alone.
Have you read daughter of the forest? It's about a guy of seven children having 7 children. He had 6 sons and the youngest was a daughter which perplexed him because he was the 7th son and wanted 7 sons. It's a fantasy tale. AN AWESOME read. if you get the chance between quilting, moving, wedding, and sending your children off.

Good idea for a quilt block JoDeen. I too am a quilter so I totally sympathize. Sorry you're life is so busy... :D Get around to it someday and send it to me and I'll quilt it for you...I do machine quilting.

JoDeen! Fifteen years later I read your comment about how people wouldn't be likely to see your comment after about a week. I hope your family is okay. I'd love to see pictures of any quilts you (or anybody else here!) have made!!

A parenting group I'm in did a quilt square swap in 1999, where everybody made the same number of matching squares as the number of participants and sent them in to one person, who then distributed a set of all the different squares to everybody. So each person ended up with a set of squares that included one square from each of the other people. I still have my quilt squares, but I've never made a quilt in my life and want to start with a starter project and then someday move on to that one when I feel that I can do it justice. But so many years later I don't know if I ever will do it. I hope I do!

Apropos of 7 and 9, my wife was born 7-7-1977!
