I once heard that every time the General Lee left the ground, it was done as a stunt car.

#2 it's true. There were something like 5 or 7 different cars, set up to do different things. One for driving in town, one for dirt roads. The one that leaves the ramp has cement in the trunk so it would fly off the ramp nose up for the freeze frame; otherwise the heavy 440 engine would tilt that car nose down into the creek, then they switch cars for a couple with heavy suspensions for landing jumps. I learned all this from a placard at a car show I went to back when the Dukes was originally on air. They had a show car version of the General Lee there (cleaned up and chromed out engine, etc), and Ms Bachman was there but in a long classy dress, and not her Daisy Duke shorts from the tv series. Stunning! And she wasn't bad to look at, either.
