Two of my brothers had absolutely terrible handwriting until they took mechanical drawing in high school.Afterwards you could actually read what they wrote.

He is holding an ink pen and that is a bottle of ink at his side.

Mr. Boos was continuously trying to get me to improve my letter skills but to no avail. The rest of Mechanical Drawing, Drafting, and Architectural Drawing classes went fine, but with all the free hand stuff, I was hopeless.

When my dad went to school they taught REAL penmanship. His was perfect and beautiful of the style as seen on official documents such as the Declaration of Independence. I tried in vain to copy his handwriting but could not even come close.

From the name "Vaxy," I thought this was going to be a political commentary on antivaxers and the recent recurrence of measles. But it was something else entirely!

I did, too. I ran across an interesting statistic recently. One in a thousand people who get measles die from it. This is one of the reasons that anti-vaxers think they're safe. However, if airplanes crashed according to those odds, there would be 87 crashes each day in the US alone. Would they feel safe putting their kids on a plane with those odds?

If the child of someone influence by the Playboy playmate antivaxer dies, should she be charge her with reckless endangerment?

Wow, I just went deep down the rabbit hole googling Tom and lettering techniques. What a shame that penmanship may be dying ...

I know my penmanship is on life support. I can sketch and write nicely when I take my time, but the muscle memory is gone for writing nicely quickly.

Super fun puzzle, Brian. I had never heard of this guy, and enjoyed reading the link.

My Dad started out as mail boy, learned drafting on the job, and worked his way up to chief engineer. Perfect penmanship. Must not be genetic, as none of us kids have legible handwriting. Thank goodness for keyboards.

Had not a clue what this was referencing since this was out of my wheelhouse but it's always great to learn something new. A very fun puzzle to solve. As to handwriting, the nuns in elementary school made sure my penmanship was excellent; which can be a blessing and a curse. Sure its very legible but my husband is always saying something like "you make out the (birthday card or the check, or the Christmas cards) because your handwriting is so good." So many things have become my job!
