Puzzle Description:

A big FAT juicy hamburger and large SUGAR drink. I'm trying to cut my fat and sugar intake. But it's so hard to do. Anyone else struggle with this? Any suggestions?

For total success, amputate at the neck. However, there are some undesirable side-effects to watch out for...

Hahaha, John. I don.t know if you have watched Supernatural on Netflix, but the puzzle image plus your comment eerily remind me of the Leviathan story line.

Cook at home! Drink water! )

Love the puzzle! At least cooking at home you can use ground beef with a lower fat content. :)

Rather than watching what I eat, I bought a desk pedaler off Amazon. Like a stationary bike, but just the pedals and a little stand so you're supposed to put it under your desk when you work, but that's too distracting so I put it in front of the couch when I watch tv. Burn about 100 cals every 30 minutes, with no effort. The resistance is magnetic, and not friction (the friction ones have more resistance, but they can get hot and burn you) No effort, 100 cals per episode (or 200 for an hour long show) without even pedaling that fast. Eat what you want! :)

Jota, that is great advice. And Norma too. I will buy some Laura's brand ground beef, it has almost no fat in it and tastes really good. And I've been wanting to roast a turkey breast just cuz they taste so good and I'll have yummy low-fat leftovers.

Tea, I had no idea they made desk pedalers. I could exercise while sitting down. Cool!

Watch "Supersize Me" - that oughta do it!

Great puzzle too!

Great puzzle with really neat images. Fun to solve.

Bill, I think that might be a good idea. I know what I need to do, I just need to be motivated.

Velma, thanks very much!

If you stop eating sugar then in a short time you will not crave it anymore and will actually dislike sweets. Do NOT substitute sugar-free drinks or sugar-free anything. Aspertame puts fat on certain parts of your body till you look deformed.....eg....huge hips and small chest and shoulders. I know this is true because I worked for a company who sold diet drinks and a memo came around telling us how bad aspertame was.....go figure....they still sell it. I also had a friend who was 'deformed' this way. She exercised to excess and when she quit aspertame her body evened itself out. Sorry to be so wordy...hope this helps.

That is so interesting, Ailsa. I have heard people say they no longer crave sweets, and actually turn down an offer of chocolate. I will not use aspartame for various reasons, and now you have provided another reason.

"Anyone else struggle with this?"
Oh my, yes Teresa. It's a daily one for me. Each day, I have to decide to make healthy choices or not.
Some days, I do very well. Other days, not so well.
I feel better when I make the healthy choices, so I try to remember that before I pop that delicious dessert in my mouth.
Love the puzzle. You are so creative!
#13: Teresa K (fasstar) on May 25, 2019
Thanks, Jewel! I have found that one thing that helps me make better food choices is to talk to someone else who is also trying to make better choices, and we motivate each other. And you are right - we do feel better when we make good choices.

Great fun to solve and love the message.

Thanks, Velma!

If you did what I did, the pounds just melt off, and you begin to look skeletal. (I don't recommend it, lol) I lost fifty pounds after I my sense of taste went out-of-whack. It's just now coming back. For over a year I was unable to taste fructose, corn syrup, sugar, aspartame, dextrose, maltodextrin. I could taste honey, saccharine, stevia, sucralose, and agave. Anything with a bit of spice burns my mouth, and I couldn't stand many grains because they became "chalky." I reacted to fruit as if I was eating a lemon, so...yeah. The only guess the doctors have is some virus had injured the nerve that interprets taste.
#17: Teresa K (fasstar) on May 27, 2019
Oh, Koreen, that reminds me of when I was on chemo a few years ago, and food had no taste and my mouth hurt so bad anyway. Yep, I lost a lot of weight and was skinny then.

I'm glad your nerve repaired itself and my nerves healed too. And I hope neither of us had to go through that kind of experience again.
#18: Koreen (mom24plus) on May 27, 2019
You and me, both, Teresa! Now I just want to make sure I don't gain back too much, lol.

A unique solve and an unexpected image and message. I struggle with this, too.
#20: Teresa K (fasstar) on May 30, 2019
Thanks, Kathy. I made some healthy choices the past weekend. I think talking about it helps my resolve.
#21: BlackCat (BlackCat) on May 4, 2020
What a fun and unique image. Hope you were successful.
#22: Teresa K (fasstar) on May 6, 2020
Thank you, BlackCat. I am doing a good job of eating healthy and no sugar drinks for me, ever.
