Puzzle Description:

Head area...Head lice are going around in the school right now. So far, I'm lucky my girls haven't any.

Nothing like hearing about a lice outbreak to make your scalp itch!

Once again, a nice little challenge. Thank you. I was an elementary teacher and principal for 30 years. I often ran home from school to shampoo as quickly as possible. Luckily, I never had a nit.

At least they have shampoos for lice now. I had a friend who told me how humiliating it was because they shaved her head and doused it in kerosene.

I'm so glad the girls are fine!

Thank you everyone for your comments. Can you imagine going through the extremes of having your head shaved bald and being doused with kerosene? Lice are a nuisance but not life threatening, and yes thankfully there are shampoos to deal with them and also now we know what precautions we can take for our children. Such as putting their hair up and teaching them not to wear other children's hats.

We used overnight mayonnaise and a shower cap, when my son got lice. It smothered all the bugs, and only left him smelling a bit condiment-y :)

I don't have any Mayo, would Miracle Whip do?
#9: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on May 9, 2019
Sure! and it'd smell nicer, to boot!

When my daughter was in her late teens her hair, which was quite thick, was quite long, a few inches past shoulder length. Someone told her that the oily ingredients would be beneficial for dry hair. She called me in desperation because several attempts to wash it out of her hair had failed. I call a good friend of mine who managed a beauty salon and asked for his help and he told me to bring her in. Which I did, and he performed his magic and got her hair mayo free.

I've heard that a daily shampoo with teatree prevent them

You can also add a few drops of tea tree oil to your existing shampoo! Lice are supposed to hate the stuff.

I heard that teatree oil does prevent them. I'll buy some.
