This is a really interesting solve to me and appropriate for the image! You can't place a blue dot next to a green in row 8 (apart from the edges) because otherwise the 4 at the left or right end will need two adjacent blues.

Once you've gone as far as simple line/color logic goes, look at R7. You can't have blue in C4, or R8 becomes an error. Flows nicely from there, quite fun and satisfying.

I also wonder about the missing red in R7C9. An intentional omission in the design, an intentional omission for solvability/difficulty, or an oversight?

Found to be solvable with moderate lookahead by gator.

I am curious what a Puzzle masters class is. It sounds like it could be interesting, both for what you'd be learning and for having interesting classmates and teachers.
