NB: The unicode 'replacement character' in the title was copied from one of my titles. The ¢ and É were also - but from when they displayed correctly.#2: Valerie Mates (valerie) on Apr 25, 2019

now posting unicode just results in a regular ? being entered instead of the windows-pagecode gobbledygook that used to result. Arguably not an improvement since the information is lost. At least the gobbledygook could be decoded to find out what it *should have* been#16: Valerie Mates (valerie) on Jun 25, 2023
Hm. Nothing on the server has changed that should have caused that, but I see it too. I dug into the code and looked back as far as 2013 and the parts for displaying characters have not changed. Yet this used to work and now it doesn't.#17: Valerie Mates (valerie) on Jun 25, 2023
Testing a special character to see if it works: ?
Hm. This may take some work to figure out.
An update: Much as I would like special characters to be working, they are a giant rabbit hole of a topic, so I'm going to put it after the other programming tasks on my To Do list. So it *is* on my list, but it may be a while before I circle back to it.#18: David Bouldin (dbouldin) on Jun 25, 2023
Thanks again Valerie for all that you do!#19: JoDeen Mozena (ozymoe) on Jun 26, 2023
I second David's comment. Valerie, we love you for your amazing self, as well as for all the things you do!
