It's even cute why they tilt their heads. Experts on Animal Planet explained that since they are young, they are still learning new sounds. Ones that are unfamiliar to them, or rather, still intrigue them, make them tilt their head to perk one hear more towards the source of the sound. They want to hear it again to understand it better. As they get older, there are more and more sounds that they've already heard, so it can be very hard to get an adult dog to tilt their head.
