Even the 27 cents is not a good tip. When I worked as a waiter for a year, I decided that $2 is the minimum tip I'm happy with, so that is the minimum I leave (except for really bad service, in which case I leave a nickel).#8: Teresa K (fasstar) on Jan 6, 2019

I have worked in the food service industry and wait staff have a lower minimum wage than most other jobs. They justify it as incentive for them to work harder to make tips. Places where i am a regular, they know i tip well, 20%, so they take good care of me.
