Another oldie but goodie for you. I'll be busy baking pumpkin pies tomorrow, and on Thursday I'll be busy eating them (with my family). And the next three days, I'll be enjoying the company of my son Chris who will be visiting over the Thanksgiving weekend. See you all next week!

Although I cook like mad, as does my wife, we have never tried a pumpkin pie. So this year we're going for it, just as soon as I get caught up on my mandatory PBN.

There - all done! Time to bake. Any tips on getting the filling ready? And has anyone tried an unusual crust?

Thanks in advance, and Happy Thanksgiving to the world-wide webpbn family!

Perfect pie to celebrate Thanksgiving, especially with family. Thanks for the pre-dinner treat.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! As to the whipped cream, I see it on top of the pie already! Save me a slice!
#8: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Nov 22, 2018
Since I started solving from right to left, I saw an *enormous* mound of whipped cream on the slice!

Thank you, Teresa! I made, and we are still eating, blackberry and pecan pies (those are two separate pies, not combined!), both better when consumed with whipped cream. A little vanilla ice cream doesn't hurt, either.

Joe, you are most welcome, and thank YOU for your fun and challenging puzzles.

Norma, my TG day was just that - absolutely wonderful!

Jill, I made 3 pies and bought 2 cans of RediWhip so I could really spoosh it on each piece of pie.

Bill, how did you pumpkin pie turn out? I make mine the easy way - all the ingredients in the blender and add 1/3 C. biscuit mix and pour it in the pie dish, and it kind of makes its own crust. Actually there's no crust to be seen, but the pie dishes out of the pie pan easily. I used almond milk and splenda and egg whites, so it's pretty much all protein and veggie, no fat or sugar, and really yummy.

Kristen, we actually did have enormous mounds of whipped cream, so you "saw" it just fine.

Gaynor, I would love to try a piece of each of your pies, they sound so yummy. I've had enough whipped cream on my pumpkin pie, so I'll take the vanilla ice cream topping please.

Pumpkin Pie! My favourite, with or without the whipped cream.
Cute puzzle. Glad everyone had a nice Thanksgiving.

Just finished this puzzle and wanted to add my two cents... I've always made my crust the standard way and it always comes out nice and flaky. I use canned pumpkin because it's already strained. One year, however, my husband made the pie and he accidently used pancake mix for the crust! It wasn't very flaky (actually kinda smooth and a little dense), but it was delicious and he got lots of compliments. Several people asked for his secret and he instantly had (and holds!) a reputation for begin a great cook!

Thanks, Koreen. I might just give that a try! (✬‿✬)
