Tedious solve, but what nostalgia! My dad finally broke down and bought a VIC-20 and a crappy old color tv for the monitor. After weeks of training, he was able to draw the American flag in only half an hour. Then he gave up on it. By the time I started playing with it, they had a simple game. Pong-like, if I remember. Anyone ?

Computers weren't ready for general usage at the time. If you didn't know what to type in you couldn't do a thing with them. I remember a game where you were on an island and you had to figure out who you were, get off the island, and fulfill your mission. But you had to type in the right commands or you couldn't do anything. And the graphics were awful!

Then there were the games with no graphics. All typing and if you made a wrong turn or two you would end up in no man's land and have to start all over.

We had a TI 99-4A, but not a Commodore.
