Boiled chicken with painkillers for breakfast seem to have lifted Belly's spirits, and a good long nap will lift mine. Wait--she just started to groan again. Oh well.

Poor Belly, hope she feels better soon.

We just had to get through the first night, and we did. Glad to have these puzzles to turn to.

A quick recovery to you both.

The good news is that it wasn't mammary cancer, it was a hernia. Big relief. She's 13 years old and was found as a stray in Brooklyn. I adopted her a month ago. Someone must have loved her before me, because she's not afraid of people at all.

Poor baby! I hope she heals quickly.

Thanks for the support, JoDeen. I took Belly back in yesterday, and may go again today. Her condition seems iffy but the Humane Society has been terrific. I'd like to volunteer there if I stay in NYC after my mom dies,

Hope Belly gets better, and better soon. It is so hard for everyone when our pets are struggling.
