Fun! For most of the puzzle (until it was more than 3/4 done) I thought it was going to be something completely different. It was a pleasant surprise at the end.

I noticed early on the background cu-coos. I thought, "Huh, I wonder if it's going to be a cuckoo clock." And then I promptly forgot, and didn't notice it was a clock until much later. :)

"As many cu-coos as would fit" sounds more like the Dem. primary this year or the Rep. primary 4 years ago.
