It's one of the classic films, in which every line is quotable! The book is also good, but quite different from the movie.#9: Mackensie J (puzzlej) on Aug 5, 2018
I must re-watch the movie!#10: David Bouldin (dbouldin) on Sep 3, 2020
What's funny is that, unlike most book-movie comparisons, the book and the movie are VERY close to each other as far as lines, plot, etc go. There were only a few details that were changed (sharks vs. eels, for example)....but the biggest difference was being able to SEE things like the sword-fighting rather than the book describing strategies and attacks and defenses. It's just a very visual story and the movie is faithful to the book and, in my opinion, enhances the experience. one of the very few movies that does that.#11: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Sep 4, 2020
I guess I need to re-read the book. I remember a passage about a lock with a tiny-but-deadly spider inside, that's nowhere in the film. :)#12: David Bouldin (dbouldin) on Sep 4, 2020
I could be misremembering...i read the book and then watched the movie in high school and that was a decent amount of time ago :P
