Don't blame the puzzle designers, blame the fool countries. Why are so many flags boring? Only the Canadians have a really good flag. US, Great Britain, Greenland, and a few others have flags that are a smidgeon more interesting than the average, but they only stand out in comparison to the incredibly unimaginative majority. The Canadian flag is not only visually interesting, but brilliantly Canadian. Nobody looking at it thinks "I can't remember, is that Canada or Togo or Burma?"
