Is it a party of jays?

I'll bet it's gonna hit us in the face when we get it.

Maybe it's just a herd of pinatas. It's a rare thing to see. They've been hunted near to extinction just so kids - mere kids taught such violence - can beat them senselessly at birthday parties and Mexican-Hawaiian Luao-Fiestas... It's a thing somewhere, I'm sure. They serve pineapple tacos.

I digress. These poor, mistreated creatures hide in the wild, but to no avail. With their bright colors and inability to move, they have little defense against the plight that threatens their species. Think of the pinatas. Do what's right and be kind. If you see a herd of pinatas dangling free, let it alone. Don't smack them. After all, they don't take your candy.

You're on the right track. This is the collective name for a group of piñatas. If you haven't seen the movie The Three Amigos, you probably wouldn't have heard it, at least not in the context of piñatas. :)

Aurelian. Thank you for opening our eyes to the viscous treatment of the pinatas suffered at the hands of their callous tormentors. We all bear some responsibility, even if we just stood back at watch at these gentle beasts have been cruelly slaughtered in the name of party fun.

I for one will no longer stand in silence and watch as a poor pinata is dismembered by some monsters taking turns with a bat. Let us not forget the culpability of the adult on the other end of the rope who seems to delight in extending the agony of these colorful creatures.

Have we no shame?

Well, apparently, pinata's come in a plethora. I looked it up.

I, too, will no longer pummel pinatas. Especially if they they come in a plethora. (Wonderful little pinata, by the way)

I loved that movie. Great depiction of a pinata, Kristen. How old is that movie anyway? Because when I saw the pinata, I immediately thought of plethora, and wondered why I would think that. Funny how things can get stuck in your head and come out so many years later.

That makes my heart happy. (it came out in 1986)

Thanks, Kristen. I wish my short term memory worked as well as my long term memory. This morning I woke up thinking, "Darn, I forgot I left my clothes in the washing machine yesterday, now they will be all wrinkled and I'll have to wash them all over again." Then I walked into my laundry room, and there were my clothes, all folded on top of my dryer. Oh yes, I remember now, I did put them in the dryer and folded them. I just forgot that I had remembered. :-D
